sarah & chet: To my two babies

Chet sent me this on Sunday while he and Grey spent the morning at home together.

Today is Grey's 23rd week birthday, and two days after Holden's 2nd Glory Day! ?I am just now sitting down to write a blog post, although I doubt I can describe this week very well, because I really don't know how.

To say that Holden's birthday was better this year than the past two is an understatement. ?I woke up Tuesday with Grey snuggled in my arms (yes, I decided she had to sleep in our bed for the night!) and kept her in my arms all day. ?Two years ago I would never have dreamed of walking the road of pregnancy again after the nightmare of losing Holden. ?Last year on Holden's 1st birthday, we knew we were pregnant, but I could not let my heart imagine taking a baby home. ?It felt like I was in a dream all day long to be able to hold a live, beautiful little person. ?

We sent balloons up to heaven with the Holden Uganda team on Saturday, and were very blessed by so many people remembering our family this week.

Holden, my sweet son, I may be two days late blogging this, but I think you know just how much I love you and thanked God for you all day long on your 2nd birthday. ?I think of you as a chubby, rambunctious toddler, full of energy and laughter. ?I imagine you with green eyes and a head full of light brown hair. ?I think you would be quite the fun little stinker right now, getting into our toilets, and climbing every surface in the house. ?You would probably be in a toddler bed now and 'too big' for constant cuddles in my arms. ?I am aware that you may not even be a baby/toddler in heaven, but this is how I think of you. ?I do because of how much our Heavenly Father loves children, so I picture heaven filled with His precious children. ?Not a day goes by yet that I haven't imagined what you would look like in our family. ?Our family would be so very different, indeed. ?We are so?profoundly different than we were the day you were born. ?

What did you do on Tuesday? ?I know time is such a human concept...but I believe that you celebrated the fact that you have been able to spend every day of 2 years with Jesus! ? ?

Your little sister (isn't she the cutest?), Daddy and I spent the day as a family, thanking God for your life. ?Grey loves balloons, so we decided to let her send two of them up to you. ?We took Grey to your body's resting spot for the first time. ?She smiled and seemed so at peace; what an example and gift from God to watch. ?I know that is how He wants us to be about your life, yet I still ended up in tears out there, because I selfishly want you in my arms instead. ?Each year on your birthday we are going to do something to give back to God what He has given to us as a family...it is what we think is the best way to celebrate the gift of having you as our son.

The deep pain of losing you is no longer there, yet the deep longing to be with you always is. ?We praise God for everything good that has come out of your life...and the good that will come. ?It is a joy to experience the glory the Lord gets through your name and life.

I am never going to stop missing you, until the Glorious Day I can join you in Paradise. ?Happy 2nd Birthday Holden Newell! ?I mean that - Happy. ?

I love you more each and every day,

Mommy

Grey, you are 23 weeks old. ?I am sure every parent of a "rainbow baby" feels the way I do, but I simply cannot understand the grace poured on us through your life. ?I stared at you all day on your big brother's birthday, and marveled at how good God's plans are. ?You are such a perfect GIFT in every possible way. ?I pray for your life to have a powerful impact on this world for the Jesus Christ. ?You are a priceless and measureless weight in my arms.

At 23 weeks, you are:

  • Spending your first day in daycare today! ?I am nervous and having a difficult time not crying all of my makeup off, but I know you are in good hands and will love playing with friends each day. ?You love babies and have 7 of them to love on each Tuesday and Thursday! :) ?
  • Honing your rolling skills. ?You are getting better at rolling multiple times to get places.
  • Starting to eat formula mixed in your bottles. ?This has not been easy, since you are very particular about tastes, and very strong-willed to eat things you like. ?;) ?We are going slow, but hope to transition you to formula within the next couple months.
  • Loving your green beans and peas! ?So far we haven't added any other flavors of baby food to your diet because we are going easy on your digestive system, but you squeal for them and eat as much as we will let you!
  • Learning to play "games"! ?This week was you played your own version of "peek-a-boo"! ?Your version is precious: ?You look up at me to give you a kiss, and then you laugh and turn away and hide your face...over and over and over. ?I LOVE IT!!

Because Grey is at daycare, we didn't get our normal weekly photo shoot in. ?I will take some tonight though. ?This was a photo of my chubby princess from yesterday, and one right before we left for daycare this morning:

?She's got THE sweetest smile on earth.

Smiles. ?The tears flowed after I got in the car after saying goodbye. :/

Two years ago was the hardest day of my entire life. ?I could never picture myself happy on this day. ?Thank you Jesus for JOY.

"...was caught up to paradise and heard inexpressible things, things that no one is permitted to tell." ?2 Corinthians 12:4 ?

Oh the things you are experiencing Holden. ?

Mitt Romney makes his case: "Need jobs, lots of jobs"

TAMPA, Fla. ? Mitt Romney launched his fall campaign for the White House Thursday night with a rousing, remarkably personal speech to the Republican National convention and a prime-time TV audience, proclaiming that America needs "jobs, lots of jobs" and promising to create 12 million of them in perilous economic times.

"Now is the time to restore the promise of America," Romney declared to a nation struggling with 8.3 percent unemployment and the slowest economic recovery in decades.

Often viewed as a distant politician, he made a press-the-flesh entrance into the hall, walking slowly down one of the convention aisles and shaking hands with dozens of delegates. The hall erupted in cheers when he reached the stage and

waved to his shouting, chanting supporters before beginning to speak.

"I accept your nomination for president," he said, to a roar of approval. Then he pivoted into personal details of family life, recounting his youth as a Mormon, the son of parents devoted to one another, then a married man with five rambunctious sons.

He choked up at least twice, including when he recalled how he and wife Ann would awake to find "a pile of kids asleep in our room."

He was unstinting in his criticism of President Barack Obama, his Democratic quarry in a close and uncertain race for the White House, and drew cheers when he vowed to repeal Obama's signature health care law.

"This president can tell us it was someone else's fault. This president can tell us that the next four years he'll get it right. But this president cannot tell us that you are better off today than when he took office," Romney declared.

Clint Eastwood, legendary Hollywood tough guy, put the case for ousting Obama plainly moments before Romney made his entrance. "When somebody does not do the job, you've got to let 'em go," he said to the cheers of thousands in the packed convention hall.

The speech over, Romney was joined by running mate Paul

Ryan, then their wives, and finally a stage full of their children and grandchildren. Confetti and thousands of red, white and blue balloons floated down from the rafters. They joined popular gospel singer BeBe Winans on "America the Beautiful."

Beyond the heartfelt personal testimonials and political hoopla, the evening marked one of a very few opportunities any presidential challenger is granted to appeal to millions of voters in a single night.

The two-month campaign to come includes other big moments ? principally a series of one-on-one debates with Democrat Obama ? in a race for the White House that has been close for months. In excess of $500 million has been spent on campaign television commercials so far, almost all of it in the battleground states of Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, New Hampshire, Ohio, Iowa, Colorado and Nevada.

Romney holds a fundraising advantage over Obama, and his high command hopes to expand the electoral map soon if post-convention polls in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and perhaps elsewhere indicate it's worth the investment.

Romney was often almost gentle in his criticism of Obama.

"I wish President Obama had succeeded because I want America to succeed," he said. "But his promises gave way to disappointment and division."

"This isn't something we have to accept ," he said, appealing to millions of voters who say they are disappointed in the president yet haven't yet decided to cast their

votes for his Republican challenger.

"Now is the moment when we can stand up and say, 'I'm an American. I make my destiny. And we deserve better! My children deserve better! My family deserves better! My country deserves better!"

Romney's remarks came on a night when other speakers filled out a week-long portrait of the GOP nominee as a man of family and faith, savior of the 2002 Winter Olympics, savvy and successful in business, yet careful with a buck. A portion of the convention stage was rebuilt overnight so he would appear surrounded by delegates rather than speaking from a distance, an attempt to soften his image as a sometimes-stiff and distant candidate.

"He shoveled snow and raked leaves for the elderly. He took down tables and swept floors at church dinners," said Grant Bennett, describing Romney's volunteer work as an unpaid lay clergy leader in the Mormon church.

Following him to the podium, Ted and Pat Oparowski tenderly recalled how Romney befriended their 14-year-old son David as he was dying of cancer. "We will be ever grateful to Mitt for his love and concern," she said simply.

Shouts of "USA, USA" echoed in the convention hall as several Olympic medal winners came on stage, a reminder of Romney stepping in to help rescue the faltering 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City.

In an evening that blended the political and the personal, delegates saw a video in which his sons poked fun at him. "I can't explain love," Romney said.

As for Obama, Romney said, "Many Americans have given up on this president, but they haven't ever thought about giving up. Not on themselves, Not on each other. And not on America."

The economy is issue No. 1 in the race for the White House, and Romney presented his credentials as the man better equipped than the president to help create jobs. Speaker after speaker testified to the help their received from Bain Capital, the private equity firm that he created ? and that Democrats argue often took over companies, loaded them down with debt and then walked away with huge fees as bankruptcy approached.

"When I told him about Staples, he really got excited at the idea of saving a few cents on paper clips," businessman Tom Stemberg said of the office supply store chain he founded with backing from Bain.

There was no shortage of Obama-bashing, though.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, sharing the stage with his wife, Callista, said Obama was a president in the Jimmy Carter mold. Both "took our nation down a path that in four years weakened America's confidence in itself and our hope for a better future," he said.

Romney' offered no new information on what has so far been a short-on-details pledge to reduce federal deficits and create 12 million jobs in a country where unemployment stands at 8.3 percent.

Romney would have to nearly double the current, anemic pace of job growth to achieve 12 million jobs over four years. That's conceivable in a healthy economy. Moody's Analytics, a financial research operation, expects nearly that many jobs to return in four years no matter who occupies the White House, absent further economic setbacks.

Romney's steps for achieving the employment growth include deficit cuts that he has not spelled out and a march toward energy independence that past presidents have promised but never delivered.

He has called for extension of tax cuts due to expire at all income levels at the end of the year, and an additional 20 percent across the board cut in rates. But he has yet to sketch which tax breaks he will eliminate or cut to prevent deficits from rising.

Nor has he been forthcoming about where to make the trillions in spending cuts needed to redeem his pledge of major deficit reduction, or about his promise to rein in Medicare or other government benefit programs before they go broke.

Ryan, the chairman of the House Budget Committee, has called for remaking Medicare into a program in which the government would send seniors checks to be used to purchase health care insurance.

Under the current approach, beneficiaries pay premiums to the government, which then pays a part of all of their medical bills, and Democrats say the GOP alternative would expose seniors to ever-rising out-of-pocket costs.

Obama's surrogates missed no opportunity to criticize Romney, the convention proceedings or Ryan's own acceptance speech.

"He lied about Medicare. He lied about the Recovery Act," Obama's campaign manager, Jim Messina, emailed Democratic donors in a plea for cash.

"He lied about the deficit and debt. He even dishonestly attacked Barack Obama for the closing of a GM plant in his hometown of Janesville, Wisconsin ? a plant that closed in December 2008 under George W. Bush."

The evening sealed a triumph more than five years in the making for Romney. He ran unsuccessfully for the nomination in 2008 after a single term as a moderate Republican governor of a liberal Democratic state.

This year, as then, he was assailed as a convert to conservatism, and a questionable one at that, as Gingrich, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and other rivals battled him for the nomination. With a superior organization and an outside group that spent millions criticizing his foes, Romney eventually emerged as the nominee in early spring.

The Importance of Branding Your Business - Medical Travel Club

Make your business a cash cow by using effective branding strategies. The idea of branding often brings to mind marks made on livestock for identification. Branding makes people identify your business. With a few stellar tips on branding your business, you?ll stand out from the competition.

What is Branding?

Business branding is a way to make people recognize your business. When you pass a certain restaurant, the familiar sign immediately makes you feel hungry. You might decide to turn into the entrance to get something to eat. The restaurant successfully attracted a customer. How did they do it?

A logo makes people notice you. Colors, pictures, shapes and an array of unusual ideas are used to brand a business. A combination of elements creates a symbol people relate to. They see it and want it because they know it. The right branding techniques makes it happen for your business.

How Do You Brand Your Business?

Various marketing techniques are used to brand businesses. Often a logo is created to use on business advertisements, promotional materials, letterhead and billing statements. Another way to brand your business is with a slogan or catch phrase.

Go back to that restaurant along the road. You saw the sign and thought about food. Suddenly you felt hungry. Did you remember a certain promotional phrase or website image? Whether it referred to a particular type of food or just an upbeat statement, it created an alluring environment. You entered the restaurant and made a purchase. It was a delicious meal and the restaurant earned a profit.

You can agonize for hours trying to do it yourself or hire a branding pro with the resources to develop an enticing marketing campaign. The end result is more profits and better word-of-mouth about your business.

Branding Creates a Mutually Beneficial Experience

The right branding techniques help to create a mutually beneficial experience. You want to attract people who need what your business offers. Duping potential customers might attract attention but negates your credibility. Who wants to buy from a joker?

Delivering a clear message keeps customers happy. They know what to expect and come to your business to get it. They recognize your logo and think of your reliability when they have a need. If someone asks for what you offer, they remember your business and recommend it. Your logo or website might even be what they share for a future customer to find you.

When people want what you have, they buy it and come back to buy again. This creates a mutually beneficial experience. Customers depend on your business and you profit. Professional branding services help create this advantageous environment.

Branding Makes Your Business Stand Out

Unless you created an original widget,Vindictus Gold, your business is likely to have competition. You need to make your business stand out from the crowd. Branding makes customers remember your business before they seek out others.

Whether they look for a business online or in a publication, your familiar logo or slogan will stand out. Instead of calling on the competition, they will go to you. Branding brings your business to the forefront. Vindictus Gold

Spacewalking astronauts stymied by sticky bolts

(AP) ? Sticky bolts proved too much for spacewalking astronauts Thursday, forcing them to leave a new power-switching box dangling from the International Space Station instead of firmly bolted down.

NASA scrambled to reduce the power demands of the orbiting lab and balance the electrical load, while mapping out a plan that could have the astronauts going back out as early as next week to tackle the problem.

It was a major disappointment for NASA's Sunita Williams and Japan's Akihiko Hoshide, who spent hours struggling with the bolts. They used all sorts of tools and tactics as the spacewalk went into overtime, but nothing worked.

With time running out, Mission Control finally told them to tie down the box and head inside.

"We'll figure this out another day," Mission Control radioed.

Thursday's spacewalk was supposed to last 6? hours but stretched past eight hours. It ended up in NASA's top 10 list for longest spacewalks ? at the No. 3 spot.

The power router is one of four, and NASA stressed that the other three are working fine. Nonetheless, electrical usage will need to be closely monitored at the 260-mile-high lab given Thursday's failed effort.

"The team may have to manage power loads a little bit, but this is familiar territory," said NASA's space station program manager, Mike Suffredini. "We'll be able to deal with that while we decide what our next plan is."

While the space station remains in stable condition, NASA would like to take another crack at securing the box as soon as possible ? perhaps next week ? because of the mid-September departure of half the six-member crew, including the second U.S. astronaut, who ran the robot arm Thursday from inside the station. And the longer this situation goes on, the more vulnerable the space station is to additional failures, Suffredini noted.

Until the problem is resolved, the space station is able to draw power from just three-quarters of its solar wings ? six instead of all eight.

The old switch box started acting up last fall, and NASA decided to replace it before it failed. This was the first spacewalk by Americans since the final shuttle flight a year ago.

Williams and Hoshide had trouble getting the old unit out because of two sticky bolts, and they found metal shavings in the sockets. They squirted in compressed nitrogen gas to clear the holes, and some debris came out. But still, the main bolt would not go in properly; the companion bolt was left undone.

The frustration mounted as the minutes and hours ticked by. At one point, Mission Control radioed, "We've tried almost every backup we have on this stupid bolt."

At a news conference later in the day, NASA officials said possible solutions might involve lubricating the thick, sturdy bolts or applying more torque.

Putting in a new switching box was the No. 1 priority of the spacewalk. In separate work, the astronauts managed to hook up one power cable and get another cable halfway connected. They never got around to replacing a bad camera on the space station's big robotic arm.

Mission Control did its best to cheer up the spacewalkers as they re-entered the space station. "You guys are rock stars, just so you know," Mission Control said.

It was the second spacewalk in less than two weeks. On Aug. 20, two Russians worked outside the orbiting complex, installing shields to protect against micrometeorite strikes.

It's no longer common for astronauts to step into the vacuum of space. That's because after almost 14 years, the space station is virtually complete. Plus NASA's shuttles are retired and now museum pieces.

Williams is the lone woman at the space station. She and Hoshide arrived a month ago, launching from Kazakhstan aboard a Russian rocket.

Domestic Violence ? Women are Half the Problem ? M a s c u l i s M.ca

Domestic Violence.?Even the mention of the words conjures up the larger than life image of some battered, bruised woman on a highway billboard; a day glow orange hot-line number beneath her visage, and some catchy slogan like ?love shouldn?t hurt.?

And no, I am not insensitive to battered women. My heart goes out to any real victim. But the day I see the images of bruised men on those billboards, I?ll be less prone to being offended at seeing the images of beaten women being propped up like the starving children you see on your TV at two in the morning; the ones you can feed, clothe and send to Harvard for 12 dollars a month.

The myth is simple and designed for the simple minded. Domestic violence is almost exclusively perpetrated by men against women.? Even better, it means brutish thugs pounding the crap out of Mary Poppins for burning the toast. And here and there, that is true.? But if you think it defines the problem, or even comes close, you need to take Dr. Phil off your TIVO to do list and start picking up some real books.

This nonsense didn?t spring out of thin air. It was and is the?raison d??tre of feminists, in their claim of patriarchal domination and how that extended into the home and family. And on the surface it makes sense, especially if you don?t think about it.? And of course we didn?t, so the idea spread like chlamydia in a cat house.

But let us scrutinize it now. You deserve a lot more depth than is offered in a sound bite.

I?ll start with some research that most would feel was from a reputable source. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, GA. This is the summary of their findings as published in the American Journal of Public Health, May 2007.

First, almost 24% of all relationships had some level of violence. Half of those relationships involved just one of the partners being violent. The other half were reciprocally violent.?Now, in relationships where violence was perpetrated by just one person, over 70% of that was committed by the woman.

Did you get that? In all relationships in that particular study, more than 7 out of 10 batterers were female.?Let?s look even closer at the data as it relates to relationships where both partners are violent. This half is even more interesting than the first half.?The study concluded that reciprocally violent relationships were most likely to result in injuries, particularly to women.? They were also a solid predictor of future, repeated violence for women, but not men. In other words, women who engaged in mutual combat with men were much more likely to have a pattern of instigating repeated assaults. Men?s violence was much more likely to be isolated, and, contrary to the repeated assertions of feminists, not likely to be repeated.

Now let me sum up those conclusions in a clearer form of English. Relationships where both are violent are more likely to result in the woman getting hurt. Those relationships are also marked by women who are much more likely than men to initiate and maintain that violence in the first place.

We have common expression for much of the men?s violence in these situations.?It?s called hitting back.

?

Women who engaged in mutual combat with men were much more likely to have a pattern of instigating repeated assaults.?

I know, there is no excuse for violence. Ever, some would say.? But there is legal, and in the belief of many, moral justification for self defense. Either way, it is a judgment call made after, and only after, an attack has been made.?

In fairness, it has to be pointed out that this one study, for many reasons, including methodology, can?t fairly be generalized to the entire population.? And one study alone is easy enough to dispute, even from a sound source. So let?s look at a hundred more.

Professor John Archer is a psychologist at The University of Central Lancashire and the esteemed head of the Aggression Research Group at the same university. In his analysis of 100 British and American studies he concludes that women are more likely than men to initiate violence in their relationships and are more likely to be aggressive more frequently. He also addresses the myth that women are only violent as a matter of self defense by reporting that 29% of female college students admitted to physically attacking their boyfriends when no threat was perceived.

I know feminists won?t be convinced by this, nor will they by several hundred more studies, but let?s look at them anyway. Professor Martin S. Fiebert of the California State University Psychology Department conducted an analysis of 249 scholarly investigations, 194 empirical studies and 55 reviews regarding domestic violence. The aggregate sample size in the reviewed studies numbers over 241,700 people.

Fiebert?s conclusion? Women are as physically aggressive or more physically aggressive in relationships than men.

And if you think that the incidence of female on male violence is mitigated by women suffering more injuries at the hands of men, think again.

There are widely conflicting studies on this. Some of them place women at greater risk, but many of them place men. If we examine Fiebert?s annotated bibliography which covers an exhaustive amount of studies, there are many times more studies cited that show women more likely to inflict serious harm, including with the use of weapons, than are men.

Are there other studies that contradict this? ? Absolutely.? But there is a significant enough body of evidence to make three things patently clear.

?

  • Domestic violence is not a product of gender.? Attributing it to one gender over the other is not only misleading, it actually hinders efforts to address the problem.
  • Society is wildly misinformed about the nature, origins and realities of domestic violence.
  • Most of our legal and political handling of domestic violence is based on the myths and not the realities, leaving us to put all of our resources into half of the problem.

?

As in so many other ways, we demonstrate a cultural tendency to remake reality, even embrace lies, when the truth about the fairer sex doesn?t make them look all that fair.

Now, many people of sound mind might well say, ?Fine, let?s just focus our attention on dealing with abusers and the abused, regardless of the sex.??But to say things are not that simple is a monumental understatement.?Richard Gelles is currently a dean at the University of Pennsylvania and holds The Joanne and Raymond Welsh Chair of Child Welfare and Family Violence in the School of Social Policy & Practice.?He is an internationally known expert in domestic violence, and was influential in the passage of the Adoption and Safe Families Act of 1997.

Gelles wrote, regarding his work with Suzanne Steinmetz and Murray Strauss,? ?The response to our finding that the rate of female-to-male violence was equal to the rate of male-to-female violence not only produced heated scholarly criticism, but intense and long lasting personal attacks. All three of us received death threats. Bomb threats were phoned in to conference centers and buildings where we were scheduled to present.?

Now is it me, or is making terroristic threats of bombing and murder a rather ironic way to protest being called violent?

Returning to the evidence, though, it would be easy to make an argument that domestic violence is more a female than a male problem. There are, after all, numerous studies that support that conclusion. But that would be as pointless as the current paradigm, and might result in my car blowing up the next time I start it.

So for those of you screaming for me to quit picking on women and take gender out of the equation, that is precisely what I am doing.?And what I am asking you to do, once and for all.?If you really believe that all violence is bad and shouldn?t be tolerated, then here is what you can do to prove it.

?

  1. Write Vice President Biden and tell him to seek an end to the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), the legislation he authored that allocates billions to women victims but leaves men totally out of the picture. Men are, after all, injured by domestic violence, too. 835,000 per year in America alone.
  2. Hold shelters and social services to account when they have no real programs designed for men. Their failure to do this is institutionalized sexism and needs to go.
  3. Confront police and prosecutors for their actions. Men who call for police help when attacked by their partners are more likely than not to be the one arrested, regardless of the circumstances.?Victims should be helped, not arrested, incarcerated and stigmatized.
  4. Be sure to express your objections to and boycott the media outlets and corporations like Pepsi and Fedex that use men getting abused as a sight gag in their advertising.
  5. When you see or hear a public service announcement that says something like ?A woman is abused in her home every 15 seconds,? realize that is is a actually a public deception, a convoluted half-truth, based in blind bigotry and callous indifference to the victimization of men.

Those are a few good beginnings, but you can best start by simply and publicly acknowledging what so few seem to know. Domestic violence has nothing to do with what sex you are. It never has. Disinformation is a poor way to address social ills.? In fact, it just breeds more of them.

Wii Console and Wii Remote Controller Suits Everybody - Skyrock.com

The Wii Gaming console is an extremely popular gaming and it has been appearing in family rooms, retirement community day rooms and therapy offices because it first seemed to the legions of gaming players in late 2006.

Among the best parts concerning the Wii Gaming console, based on nearly 75 % of those questioned regarding their recent purchase and using the Wii Gaming console would be that the Wii controllers are extremely various and more fascinating than standard two-handed controllers which have long wires which appear to attach anyone to the tv.

The Wii handheld remote control has proven itself to become a good workout companion for all those once referred to as game couch potato's for that Wii remote must be moved around to be able to work the avatars or 'people' on screen.

An example from the Wii Remote Controller at the office may be the bowling game which many seniors find provides them an excellent workout without needing to go out.

Was once you might simply press a control button or slide a little joystick forward and also the ball would roll, usually inside a predetermined pattern, as well as an individual could be 'bowling.' Though the Wii Bowling Game, a person must fully stand up, and also 'throw' the remote for the television and release their hang on the button ? not toss the Wii handheld remote control in the TV.

An individual actually utilizes the bowling stance, walk and launch technique while playing a bowling game on their own Wii, only they will use the Wii remote or Wiimote within their hand rather than a ball.

Because numerous people had experience weight reduction using the various Wii game titles, the Nintendo Company chose to take advantage of this and created the Wii Fitness by which some games need a person get up on a 'fitness pad' or strap on something which is comparable to a tracking gadget or contain the Wii Remote Controller for example for any Wii Boxing Game, area of the Wii Sport package.

Individuals get an superb cardiovascular workout using the Wii Boxing Game where a player uses the Wii remote to box the environment as the little 'person' on screen boxes at another little 'person' or perhaps a large punching bag. Regardless of a person's preference, they'll obtain a great workout using the different games in Wii Fitness.

Physiotherapists such as the Wii remote controllers are simple to handle by patients who've lost their dexterity and flexibility within their hands and arms. It offers their sufferers something fun to complete as opposed to the repeated workouts on hefty weight-lifting machinery or resistance band exercises.

The Wii gets people involved helping to motivate these to wish to focus on their recovery through practical activities rather than simple muscle toning.

A Wii Remote Controller works best for everyone since it supplies a great workout for body and mind which may be useful to seniors and people needing physical rehabilitation treatments.

Superman, Wonder Woman lock lips as power couple

PHILADELPHIA (AP) ? Wonder Woman and Superman are an item, locking lips in a passionate embrace as the pair realize that there's no one out there like them.

The couple's kiss is the culmination of a dramatic story in "Justice League" No. 12, which marks the first full year since DC relaunched its stable of heroes with new stories, new costumes and revised origins.

DC Comics co-publisher Jim Lee, who has drawn each issue of "Justice League" since its debut, called the canoodling in Wednesday's issue not a stunt or an alternate reality smooch.

"This has been in the works for some time and we certainly wouldn't have pulled the trigger on without there being great creative benefit to the liaison," he said in an email. "Beyond the joy and sorrows of new love, there are potentially huge ramifications and dramatic ways this single relationship between these iconic characters will change the entire political and interpersonal landscape of the DC Universe."

The characters have long formed, with Batman, the triumvirate of DC Entertainment's heroes and are among the most powerful and best-known.

In the 1980s, the pair had a brief fling but Superman went on to marry Lois Lane. They also kissed in Frank Miller's "Dark Knight Strikes Again" a decade ago. In a 2006 epilogue to 1996's "Kingdom Come," the couple asks Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, to stand as godfather to their unborn child.

Since DC relaunched its characters and universe nearly a year ago, some of the origins have changed ? Wonder Woman is now the daughter of Zeus ? and the costumes have, too.

One aspect that did not survive the relaunch: Lois Lane's role as Superman's love. She's still around, but the two have never dated, nor are they likely to.

Geoff Johns, who writes "Justice League" is laying out a story that looks not only at the couple but the effects on others, too, Lee said.

"The way Geoff unfolds the story and the implications of two of the most powerful characters in the DCU becoming a team is something that goes beyond the question of 'What about Lois and Clark?'" Lee said.

"This is a statement to every nation and geopolitical organization in the entire DC Universe giving creative teams ample material to explore this relationship on so many different levels."

(AP) ? President Barack Obama said Mitt Romney has locked himself into "extreme positions" on economic and social issues and would surely impose them if elected, trying to discredit his Republican rival at the biggest political moment of his life.

In an interview with The Associated Press, Obama said Romney lacks serious ideas, refuses to "own up" to the responsibilities of what it takes to be president, and deals in factually dishonest arguments that could soon haunt him in face-to-face debates.

Obama also offered a glimpse of how he would govern in a second term of divided government, insisting rosily that the forces of the election would help break Washington's stalemate. He said he would be willing to make a range of compromises with Republicans, confident there are some who would rather make deals than remain part of "one of the least productive Congresses in American history."

With the remarks, Obama set up a contrast between Romney, whom he cast as an extremist pushing staunchly conservative policies, and himself, by saying he would work across party lines. It was a seeming play for the independent voters who decide close elections and tell pollsters they want to see the often-gridlocked politicians in Washington solve the nation's problems.

Mainly, Obama was intent on countering Romney even before his challenger got to the Republican National Convention, which starts Monday in Tampa, Fla. In doing so, the president depicted his opponent as having accumulated ideas far outside the mainstream with no room to turn back.

"I can't speak to Gov. Romney's motivations," Obama said. "What I can say is that he has signed up for positions, extreme positions, that are very consistent with positions that a number of House Republicans have taken. And whether he actually believes in those or not, I have no doubt that he would carry forward some of the things that he's talked about."

Obama spoke to the AP on Thursday before heading off to a long weekend with his family at Camp David, the secluded presidential retreat in the Maryland mountains.

The president was at ease but doggedly on script, steering even personal-themed questions about Romney and running mate Paul Ryan into answers about starkly different visions for helping the middle class.

Romney, a successful former executive of a private equity firm and one-time Massachusetts governor, will introduce himself to a TV audience of millions next Thursday as he takes the convention stage to accept his party's presidential nomination. He has offered himself as a business-minded alternative to Obama and has seized on voter concerns about joblessness and the direction of the nation.

Nearly 10 weeks before Election Day, the race is remarkably stable and reflective of a sharply divided nation, with registered voters about evenly split on their choice and nearly a quarter of them unsure or still willing to change their mind. Across the interview, Obama's messages often seemed directed at moderate and independent voters whose sway could make the difference.

Obama's depiction of a Romney presidency grew most pointed when he was asked if his Republican challenger has no core, as one of Obama's top advisers once put it.

The president suggested that whatever Romney really stands for in life is secondary to the promises Romney has made in the campaign.

In explaining his accusation of "extreme" positions, the president cited Romney's call for across-the-board tax cuts that Obama said would mostly help the rich at the expense of everyone else and cost the nation $5 trillion. Obama singled out Romney's opposition to tax credits for producers of wind energy, the kind of issue that carries large political resonance in a battleground state such as Iowa.

And Obama alluded to the provocative issue of abortion, suddenly thrust to the fore this week when Republican Missouri Senate candidate Todd Akin said the female body has a way to "shut that whole thing down" when a woman is the victim of "legitimate rape."

The Republican platform in Tampa calls for a ban on abortion with no specific exceptions for rape or other circumstances. Obama predicted that a President Romney would not "stand in the way" if Congress gave him a bill that stripped away women's control over their reproductive health.

Romney is on record, however, as not opposing abortion in cases of rape and incest or if it will save the mother's life.

Polling shows social issues such as abortion represent perhaps Obama's best opportunity to draw support from Romney. Obama already holds a broad lead as the candidate more trusted to handle those social issues among Democrats and independents. The issue is one of Romney's biggest vulnerabilities among moderate and liberal Republicans.

Obama also sought to chip away at Romney's trustworthiness, taking fresh shots at Romney's refusal to release years of tax returns for public inspection. He said that position was indicative of a candidate who has a "lack of willingness to take responsibility for what this job entails."

Yet it is the economy that has driven this election and has dominated Obama's message of a middle-class revival.

"We aren't where we need to be. Everybody agrees with that," said Obama, who inherited an economy in free fall and now bears responsibility for a recovery that remains weak. "But Gov. Romney's policies would make things worse for middle-class families and offer no prospect for long-term opportunity for those striving to get into the middle class," the president said.

A Romney spokesman, Ryan Williams, jumped on Obama's account in the interview that the economy clearly needs to get better. "Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan agree," Williams said. "The American people know they aren't better off than they were four years ago."

Obama holds a decisive advantage over Romney when Americans are asked who better understands their daily woes. Yet nearly two-thirds of people in a new AP-GfK poll say the economy is in poor shape, and 60 percent say the country is headed in the wrong direction.

Obama expressed confidence that even voters whose lives have not improved during his term will stick with him as they assess the two candidates.

"If they saw Gov. Romney offering serious proposals that offered some sort of concrete ways in which middle-class families would be helped, then I could understand them thinking about that choice," Obama said. "But that's not what's happening."

And therein lies the central case that Obama made in the interview, as he has made for months, and as he will again at his own party's convention in Charlotte, N.C., in early September.

Obama said he is the candidate whose policies have historically helped the middle class on issues that people care about and that shape the economy ? education, manufacturing, science and research, Medicare, debt reduction, tax rates, health care, consumer protection, college aid, energy.

Williams, the Romney spokesman, responded that Obama has piled up national debt and presided over high unemployment. "Too many middle-class families are going to sleep each night worried," he said. "This may be the best President Obama can do, but it's not the best America can do."

The moment that could finally shake up a close race could come in the three debates Obama and Romney hold in October. The president said Romney could run into trouble because of arguments that are not backed up by facts, citing a widely debunked television ad campaign in which Romney accuses Obama of gutting the work requirement in the federal welfare law.

"It will be a little tougher to defend face-to-face," Obama said.

Obama's view of a different second-term dynamic in Washington, even if both he and House Republicans retain power, seems a stretch given the stalemated politics of a divided government. He said two changes ? the facts that "the American people will have voted," and that Republicans will no longer need to be focused on beating him ? could lead to better conditions for deal-making.

If Republicans are willing, Obama said, "I'm prepared to make a whole range of compromises" that could even rankle his own party. But he did not get specific.

The 25-minute interview, conducted in the library of the White House residence, was part of a multi-faceted campaign by Obama's team to snag some of the spotlight during Romney's big week. Obama denied the notion, widely if quietly held in political circles, that the fiercely competitive president is also driven to beat Romney because he does not hold him in high regard.

"I don't really know him well," Obama said. "The big arguments that I have with Gov. Romney have to do with where we take this country forward."

BRISTOL, Tenn. ? With a two-handed toss of his helmet, Tony Stewart brought back everything that had been missing at Bristol Motor Speedway.

It was the rock 'em, sock 'em style of racing that made the Tennessee bullring the toughest ticket in NASCAR, and fans fill the place for 55 consecutive races hoping to see bumping and banging on the track and the off-track drama it created.

Progressive banking added in 2007 diluted the action, and fans turned their backs on Bristol in droves. Yet another disappointing crowd in March was the final straw for track owner Bruton Smith, who ordered changes to the track surface in the hopes the action would pick up and the fans would return.

He got exactly what he wanted Saturday night, even if his idea didn't go exactly according to plan.

Tempers flared again at Bristol ? the boiling point coming when Stewart heaved his helmet at Matt Kenseth's car after the two wrecked racing for the lead ? and the action on track picked up enough to satisfy most fans.

Five-time Bristol winner Jeff Gordon, who watched some of Bristol's greatest races from the spotter stand before he began his Cup career, thought Saturday night looked a lot like old Bristol.

"Even though it was really tough to pass, it just reminded me of old school Bristol," Gordon said. "I think it was a success and I certainly had a lot of fun. I say they grind the whole place. Sounds awesome. I hope they do that next time."

Believing the progressive banking had created too many lanes for drivers to use, Smith ordered the top groove to be ground down at Bristol. His desired effect was a tighter track that forced drivers to run around the bottom and use their bumpers to move cars out of their way.

They had to use their bumpers, but it was at the top of the track where the action occurred. The new top groove picked up rubber as the race progressed, and the grip in the high line was too attractive for drivers to ignore.

Denny Hamlin, who picked up his first Bristol victory, thought the racing was similar to years past.

"We were all running in a line and just waiting on the next guy to screw up to get around," he said. "That's what you had with the old Bristol. That's how we had to race. I don't think we saw as much side-by-side racing, but you didn't see side-by-side racing with the old Bristol. You just saw a bunch of cars in line waiting on someone to get knocked out of the way or mess up and that's the same thing we had."

With it came the return of a vintage Stewart reaction following his accident with Kenseth.

The three-time series champion had rallied from a lap down to run for the lead with Kenseth, but after the two came close to wrecking for at least an entire lap, they finally collided for reasons neither agreed upon. Stewart showed his displeasure by tossing his helmet at Kenseth's car, and promising a rocky ride the rest of the season.

"I'm going to run over him every chance I've got from now 'til the end of the year, every chance I've got," Stewart said.

That's the kind of responses fans expect at Bristol, where Dale Jarrett in 1993 threw his helmet at Bobby Hillin Jr.'s car. Ward Burton once threw his heel guards at Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jimmie Johnson made an obscene gesture, Gordon shoved Kenseth, Kevin Harvick charged after Greg Biffle, and, oh, the late Dale Earnhardt spun Terry Labonte in an effort to "rattle his cage."

On Saturday night, even Danica Patrick got into the action, angrily wagging her finger at Regan Smith after contact from him caused a race-ending wreck after she'd worked her way to 19th.

"We were just racing hard, this is Bristol, this is why people love this track because you see a lot of that, you see tempers flare," Patrick said.

It was the perfect kickoff for the final push to set the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship field.

Hamlin's win was his third of the season, and it created a four-way tie for most wins in the series. Should nothing give over the next two races between Hamlin, Johnson, Stewart and Brad Keselowski, there'd be a logjam for the top seed in the 10-race Chase.

And the race is still on for the final two wild card spots.

A wreck with Juan Pablo Montoya was devastating for Ryan Newman, who slipped out of contention for one of the two wild card berths. Headed into next Sunday's race at Atlanta, Kasey Kahne is still holding steady for one of the spots. Kyle Busch moved into position for the second one, and he leads Gordon by 16 points. Newman fell to fourth in the wild card standings, 19 points behind Busch.

And Carl Edwards, who lost the championship to Stewart last year on a tie-breaker, is still trying to find a way into the Chase.

Hamlin was well aware of the repercussions as he chased down Edwards on the track, using a vintage "slide job" pass of Edwards to take the lead. Then he successfully defended Edwards' attempt to use a crossover to take the lead back, and Hamlin preserved a win that helped him and Busch, his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate.

Gordon, who finished third, also had an eye on the standings.

"If Carl had won or Kyle had won, it would have gotten us way behind, so we kept ourselves in the battle for it," Gordon said. "We've got two more opportunities and they're good opportunities. I'm a little disappointed myself because I think we had the car and we had the track position and I got loose on new tires on that one run when we really had the guys I felt we had to beat behind us."

Make Real Estate Buying Work For You ?

When you are going to buy a home, make sure you have money for the bills that come along with it. Many people do not take bills into consideration when making an offer on a home and they end up broke each month. Make a list of how much each bill is expected to cost you.

When you are considering buying a house, don?t just consider how many bedrooms and how many baths, especially if you are looking at it as an investment. Just as important, is to consider the neighborhood, the school district and the financial situation of those living around you. All of the aforementioned things, can affect the value of the home and thus, the return on your investment.

Mortgage lenders will use a housing expense-to income ratio to calculate how much of a mortgage you will be able to afford to pay for. They calculate the property tax payments, principle and interest on the loan and insurance premiums on the home and use it to determine your potential payment to see if it is affordable.

If you can, bring a veteran rehab contractor along to any of the open houses that you attend. The experienced contractor should be able to spot some of the houses defects that you might overlook. You are not as experienced as a contractor will be, so it can be very beneficial to have someone come with you.

When you are looking for homes that you would like to purchase, you should take a look around at the community that you would be living in. Make sure that there is a good mixture of both residential neighborhoods as well as commercial districts. The reason for this is that the commercial area helps provide jobs as well as income for the city that you will be living in.

When considering the size of the house you would want to get, you should keep in mind what the average buyer is looking for if you want to consider the ease of reselling it in the future. The average buyer is looking for a three or four bedroom house. So this is something you should consider, if you can afford it, since this would help get more potential buyers in your home once you are ready to sell.

One of the most important things to think about when buying a home for your family is safety for children. There are around 2.5 million injuries each year (according to the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission), and you don?t want your children falling into that category. Look at how many stairs the house has, the outdoor lighting, and if there is a pool outside.

When planning out how much house you can afford to buy, don?t forget to calculate in the maintenance costs of the home. Maintenance is one of the most expensive factors in owning a home, but it?s something many first time homebuyers will forget about. Once you own the home, your landlord is no longer responsible if a pipe breaks, so save money for eventualities.

By searching for the best prices one can assure that they will be making the most of their money. Homes that have been foreclosed on can be found for attractive prices although more money may needed to be invested in the home. Other homes can be bought for more but may require less money invested.

So now that you know a little bit more about the home buying process, you can use these tips and nuggets of information to be a pro buyer in no time. Real estate purchases don?t have to be scary, it?s all about what you know and having the confidence to make the right moves.

When looking for homes for sale in branson mo be sure to slow down when making your decision and hire a real estate agent you trust.

Sicko (2007): Doctor's Salary in Englang

Sicko (2007): Doctor's Salary in Englang

The clip doctor's salary in englang from Sicko (2007) A report from the AMA into the health of 55 to 64-year-olds says Brits are far healthier than Americans. For every illness that we looked at. Americans had more of it than English. Cancer. Heart disease. Hypertension. Strokes. Lung disease. All significantly higher for Americans. Even the poorest people in England with all the environmental factors that give them the worst health in the country can expect to live longer than the wealthiest people in America. I was wondering. Though. What's it like for the doctors here in Britain. Who have to live under this kind of state control? And you're a family doctor? Yeah, I suppose we'd call them GPs or general practitioners here. Right, so you have a family practice? Yeah, it's an NHS practice. We have nine doctors in that practice. Paid for by the government? Yeah. You work for the government? You're a government-paid doctor. A patient comes to you. Before you treat them, do you have to call the government insurance company before you treat them? No, I don't deal with money at all on an everyday basis. Have you ever had to say no to someone who was sick and needed help? No, never. Have you heard of anyone being in the hospital and being removed because they couldn't pay their bill? No, never. And I wouldn't want to work in that system. So working for the government, you probably have to use public transport? No. I have a car that I use and I drive to work. An old beater? You live in a rough part of town? I live in a terrific part of town. It's called Greenwich.

Sicko (2007): Doctor's Salary in Englang Part 2

Sicko (2007): Doctor's Salary in Englang Part 2

The clip doctor's salary in englang Part 2 from Sicko (2007) It's a lovely house. It's a three-story house. How many other families have to live with you? There's four bedrooms for my wife and my son. It's just the three of us there. How much did you pay for that? L550,000. Yes, almost. So, a million dollars? You're a government-paid doctor on a national health insurance healthcare plan, and you live in a million-dollar home? Yes. I think my friends think we do quite well. Really? How well do you do? I earn around 85,000, including pension. L85,000? L85,000 a year. And that includes pension that they would pay in to me. They probably earn just over L100,000 within my practice. L100,000? So that's almost $ 200,000? Yes, absolutely. The money that we earn, we get paid by what we do. So the better we do for our patients, then the more we get paid. What do you mean? There's a new system. And in that new system, if the most number of your patients have low blood pressures, or you get most of your patients to stop smoking, or you get your patients to have mental health reviews if they're unwell, or low cholesterols, then you get paid more. This year, if you get more people that are your patients to stop smoking, you'll get more money, you'll earn more? Oh, yeah. Absolutely. So doctors in America do not have to fear having a universal healthcare? No. I think if you want to have two or three million-dollar homes and four or five nice cars and six or seven nice televisions, then maybe, yeah, you need to practice somewhere where you can earn that. But I think we live comfortably here. London is expensive, but I think we live comfortably. You're getting by OK on the million-dollar home, the Audi, and the flat-screen TV? Yeah, we're coping with those.
